As known to be The Chosen One of the Palace, the empress Mumtaz Mahal died in 1631 during the birth of her fourteenth child, a daughter named Gauhara Begum. Hence the grief-stricken emperor built Taj Mahal in Agra, India as a burial place and beautiful memorial to her.

It took almost 22 years for 20,000 skilled workers to built the magnificent Taj Mahal and its gardens. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653. To elaborate further of its architectural style the memorial is covered with dazzling white marble. The central dome is 60 metres about 200 feet high while the walls which are decorated with semiprecious stones displays intricate designs and reflects a combination of Islamic, Indian and Persian workmanship.
